One of the things I love about Houston is how a little rain can shut down the city. Case in point, Freeway Floods When Pump Fails To Activate, shows how a freeway can and will flood with a simple thunderstorm.
Amazing really.
Buried in the Click2Houston.com story is the following:
METRORail was also shut down between the University of Houston-Downtown and Wheeler stations because of high water.
OK. The transportation system that was put into place, partly, because the medical center was completely cut off in a flood several years ago was shut down because of…. rain? Hmmmm….. OK. I don’t get it.
