Body battle leaves one museum in the cold
Health exhibitor pulls cadaver show as science gallery steals its thunder

The battle of cadavers is over before it began.

Houston’s modest Health Museum abruptly canceled its upcoming exhibit of posed, preserved human bodies — anticipated as its first blockbuster — following Friday’s surprise announcement that a similar display will open earlier than expected at the nearby Museum of Natural Science.

Body Worlds 3, created by German anatomist Gunther von Hagens, will debut Feb. 25 at the Museum of Natural Science and run through Sept. 4.

Bodies … The Exhibition was scheduled to open April 22 at the Health Museum. The museum is issuing refunds for tickets, which went on sale a week ago, a spokeswoman said.
