Daily log, February 23 — a deliberate day off

I made the deliberate decision to “sleep in” today, which means no gym. I know that my trainer would tell me that I need to exercise every day, but I’m not there yet.

I think I’m doing a good job with getting there three or four times a week. Daily would be much more than I’m willing to do right now.

9 AM — My regular breakfast burrito was enhanced today. I used the last of my eggs so I could have an egg-white scramble with ground beef, broccoli slaw, sliced mushrooms and cheese. I added banana peppers to the mix for flavor. Very yummy and 50% more calories as I regularly have, though more protein and less fat.

Mid-morning snack — was an almond crunch granola bar — tasty and 6 grams of protein. I had that with a cup of coffee.

2 PM — Lunch was a turkey burger (homemade, plain) on sourdough bread with creamy dijon mustard. I added an apple to that to have a lean lunch.

Mid-afternoon snack — was a protein shake and a banana.

8 PM — dinner was a big plate of steamed asparagus covered with shrimp sauteed in my homemade peanut sauce. Very yummy. I made enough of the shrimp so I can eat it tomorrow too.
