Filmmakers program gets $500,000

The budget of the New Mexico Filmmakers Program has been expanded by $500,000 to allow it to start a grant program, an annual conference, an expanded film resource center, and a program for Hispanic and Native American filmmakers.

The money, which will be administered by the New Mexico Film Office, also will pay for improvements to the state’s film resource center.
