Just in case you were wondering if it was just your imagination, now you know better — your raise this year sucked. In fact, reports the Houston Chronicle, raises in Houston ran behind national averages. Definitely not good news.
Raises are not so hot in the Houston area

Wages increased just 2.5  percent in the Houston area between September 2007 and September 2008, according to data released Thursday by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. One year earlier, workers here were enjoying average raises of 4.2 percent.
Local raises are also running behind the U.S. average, which was 2.9 percent during the past 12 months.
