Some stories to watch & things to do:
- A great story in the Pasadena Citizen about how Literacy Advance tutors are helping the parents of students from Gardens Elementary learn English — “Breaking down barriers with ESL“
- HISD SAT scores fell this year, but ACT scores rose a bit, according to a Houston Chronicle2 story about college preparation exams. They say it’s “mixed results,” and are right. We need better results than that.
- Rice University raised more than $100 million in 2008, a historic high, says the Houston Business Journal
