Gulf storm could visit Texas coast late this week

A tropical disturbance that continued developing over the southeastern Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday could bring rain or even high winds to the upper Texas coast later this week.

Computer models predicted that the storm will come ashore somewhere between the central Texas coast and Alabama late Thursday or early Friday. The most likely location appears to be near the Texas and Louisiana border.
Because the heaviest storms are likely to wrap around the system’s eastern side, a landfall at the border would probably yield only marginal rainfall over Southeast Texas.
