Hillary’s Speech Proves a Hispanic Hit
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton isn’t yet officially running for president, having repeatedly said that she’s focused on her Senate re-election campaign next year.
[snip] …her lunchtime speech… [snip] …to members of the National Council of La Raza at the Pennsylvania Convention Center that she very likely will throw her hat into the ring.
Clinton knew her audience well – about 2,500 people who work with the nation’s largest Latino-advocacy organization through at least 300 affiliates – on critical issues in many Latino communities: education, health care, job training and health concerns such as lead poisoning and asthma.
The Hispanic voting block has proven its power and both parties are beginning to recognize the force that they can become. Unfortunately, with the current anti-immigrant climate, it’s become especially important that Hispanics make their needs and issues known… and back those up with votes in the right place.
I don’t know that I’ll vote for Hillary if she runs, I only know that we need someone other than another Bush.
